Do you approve of the creation of a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Representative to the APAHC Board of Directors (Article IV, Section 8)? The DEIB Representative will guide education and training efforts that address diversity inclusive practices; help craft public statements in diversity-related matters; and advocate for policies that support marginalized groups. The DEIB Representative, as a voting member of the Association’s Board, will collaborate with internal and external partners to create a culture of inclusivity, highlighting and guiding the remediation of systemic biases and barriers to equity and belonging within the organization, and formulating ways in which the Association can advocate for these principles within the broader academic health community.

Do you approve of changing the APAHC election timeline, whereby the call for nominations is changed from “In November in the year preceding the election” to “On or about February 1st of the election year;” the date for the APAHC Board of Directors to approve the slate of nominees is changed from “January” to “On or about March 30th" and the date for the election opening is changed from “On or about April 15th” to “On or about May 1st” (Article V, Section 2)? This change will shorten the time between when the APAHC Board of Directors approves the slate of nominees and when the election opens. Also included in this proposed amendment are minor additions, including “Nominations can be extended by the Nomination Committee in consultation with the APAHC Board of Directors” and “Election remains open for a period of 60 days per APA Division Services Office.”
